Carmen Gillette is working on hand-interaction simulation for augmented writing. She is trying to design a pen and paper set which incorporates a number of electronic devices and magnets to help guide the pen along the paper. The user still does most of the writing, however; the process isn't completely automatic. She hopes to use this technology to help teach handwriting skills to those who need help, especially younger children. Currently, she has begun writing and researching this idea, with design of the actual augmented writing device not far into the future.
