The METLAB has facilities to support the capture, monitoring, and processing of large amounts of audio and video. The lab also has facilities for optical and video see-through augmented reality, monitor-based augmented reality, and projective AR. Digital video compositing is made possible through the use of blue screen recording and computer-based editing. Innovative development techniques and cutting edge software are used to develop new methods of content authoring for the World Wide Web and Multimedia applications.
The METLAB uses Sun, HP, and SGI workstations, as well as Dell Windows XP workstations.
Video editing is done using Miro digital video equipment and SONY digital cameras.
